Montessori Toys

Montessori isn't a style of toy so much as a way of standing back. The child chooses the work, repeats it as long as it holds them, and finishes it themselves. The toy's job is to be honest about what it is — real wood, real weight, one clear idea — and then get out of the way.

What's gathered here follows that: stackers and sorting trays that a child can correct without being told, tracing boards for hands getting ready to write, helper towers so a two-year-old can reach the counter and actually help, and Pikler frames for climbing that is properly earned.
